Nepotism or Favouritism

An actor committed suicide a month ago and left us with this debate of nepotism. I agree with Jamie lever on this topic, “it’s favouritism not nepotism”. The problem is Sushant singh was not Ranvir Singh, a people pleaser. A glib talker always get his way.

One month ago nobody cares about Sushant Singh but now everyone wants to talk about him only.  Someone said on twitter, “people are behaving like they lost a scientist to bollywood” which is very accurate in this situation.

Now public hate the same star kids who were there favorite a while ago.  I still remember when Taimur ali khan was born, media was getting obsessed with his photographs. Same Sushant singh was  ignored by public when Sara ali khan shared screen with him.

Any person who is different from others is always treated poorly. As they say “odd man out”. If people don’t understand your thoughts they can’t get along with you. You became alien to them.

The problem of favouritism exists everywhere, in every field, just do as they say and you will be there favourite then every door is open for you. You will get all the opportunities. Talent is not the only thing needed for steady growth, in fact sometimes in some fields it is last thing you need for success. Maintaining relationships is one of the important aspect to achieve anything in life as human is a social animal.

At the end, I will say that bashing Karan Johar will not change anything, may be he is biased but some people forget one thing he introduced Siddharth Malhotra (non filmy background) and Alia Bhatt from same film.

#MenToo movement

I have to admit that I didn’t understand the need of this movement until I have not read TOI Sunday Special page dedicated to it. It seems like reflex of #metoo movement which is understandable as there are many fraud cases came to picture after that movement.

Recent case of TV actor Karan Oberoi gain my attention. He was arrested under false charges of rape which is heartbreaking. Unfortunately, these days some women use this word for their personal benefit. It is impossible to understand the mentality of this tribe, they are insulting the innocent rape victims and dent the innocuous man’s image.

As TOI articles has suggested, in such kind of cases accuser should get the punishment if her allegations are proved wrong / baseless and identity of accused should be kept hidden.

P.S. – The comments in the post are given to the proven “fraud cases only”. It is completely my personal views and my intention is not to hurt anyone sentiments.

Knowledge is the key to Success

There is a joke circulating these days on whatsapp about engineering college teachers and students

An announcement was made in a plane full of engineering faculty

“You will feel proud to hear that this plane is created by your students.”

After listening to the announcement all the teachers got scared and get down from the plane except the Principal of the college.

Teachers to the Principal – “You have that much confidence in your students.”

Principal – “I am confident about my students abilities, this plane will not start. So don’t worry nothing will happen.”

This is how our education system is working. Lecturership/ Teachership is not a dream job. Sometimes, I saw people who didn’t get any job will become a teacher.

On this subject I want to share one incidence, my neighbour requested me to teach her daughter. She was 7 years old at that time and studying in 2nd standard. I gave her tuition for a month then I came to know, she was also taking tuition from her class teacher. I had a chat with her mother :

Me – “Why she is taking tuition from two teachers? If you don’t like the way of my teaching  please tell me, I will stop taking her tuition.”

Her Mother – “Actually, she(other teacher) is her school teacher. You are clearing her basics, but she can help her to get more numbers.”

I was shocked by her answer.

Me – Please don’t do this to her. In this way she will get puzzled and also didn’t time for the self study or playing. I don’t want to continue the tuition.

I never did this for money , I want my student to learn something. This incidence disappointed me and I have decided not to take any more tuitions. You can’t change
anyone mentality if parents himself want their child to be part of rat race nothing can be done. They don’t have time to see what children are learning, only they are concerned about marks/grades. Only memorizing the words and vomiting the same on question paper will not increase the knowledge.

I can’t force the govt. to change the education system, but parents can change their way of thinking. If they encourage their child to understand the subjects rather than just memorizing it. Today we are getting the help of internet with which nothing is impossible, on any subject you tube video is available. If teachers are not good in school you can help your child in the following way :

-> Share in depth knowledge with them regarding the subject which is required at initial stage.
-> Give them the habit of self study,
-> Built the habit of asking “why” to themselves.
-> Let them understand the things through pictorial description or can search video from internet.

I am sure this will help in some way because this strategy is working in my career and if it is not working then we have always last option to blame the education
system anyway 😉

This post is written for Indispire topic Education System  (which is suggested by me)

Do we know the meaning of freedom?

As per my observation on this topic everyone criticizes current scenarios, but nobody takes any needed steps for the same. Honestly, what we are during on our end? Even some people didn’t have time to cast the vote. How can we expect others to be patriotic? We love to dispose waste on roads, bribe others for our personal benefits(even sometimes when they don’t ask for it), if we notice something unfortunate on road while passing from there we don’t want to help, we hate to follow traffic rules and the list can go on. I think there is a need to improve ourself first, then to point others.

Are You Supporting a Right Person?

Salman Khan’s blind fan following always surprises me. I can digest that his fans can make an illogical movie “Blockbuster” but they are supporting him for committing a homicide. Homicide means killing a human being and for your information a human being was killed in Bandra incident. Even after committing this serious crime the actor (so-called founder of “Being human” organization) did not have the decency to accept it but he is putting all the blame on his driver.

More surprising and embarrassing part is the whole bollywood fraternity is supporting him. They are the same people who made touching movies on under privileged people and law manipulations. Can’t they see how Salman khan tried to manipulate the witnesses? Some witnesses have also complained that they got the threat calls.

These are the lines from Times of India :

“We watch his movies, but hate him”: Bakery worker (Victim)

“Stories that Salman helps poor are myth” : Victim

Initially, Abdulla had the feeling of punishing Salman for running the bakery workers lives. “But gradually I accepted the reality. He is big man, we cannot harm him,” said Abdulla. (Victim)

In 2007, after the court’s direction, four injured victims got compensation of Rs 3 lakh each. Abdulla said that they actually got only Rs 1.8 lakh, as each of them had paid Rs 1.2 lakh as legal charges. Abdulla said that he paid his creditors after receiving the compensation.

(May be no money was left in the “Being Human” organisation’s account)

Still, you want to support him, then there is a big question mark on the India’s youth mentality.

Kaise Banega Swachh India?

These days one topic is grabbing attention “Swach Bharat”. One thought that came to mind, are people really working for this campaign or it’s just a hype? Honestly, If any poll would be conducted for the same people will surely say it’s a hype. As many bollywood stars and PM Modi are connected to it, these things are grabbing attention. Looking it into another way, there is no harm in it. It doesn’t matter whether people are doing it for publicity or for genuine reasons, until it is for a good cause.

Why the success of “Swach bharat campaign” is so important?

1. The Roots of deadly epidemic disease – Primary reason of many diseases. These diseases can happen to anyone not only to the under privileged people, if you are keeping your house clean, but there is a drain blockage nearby then you can be a victim of malaria or dengue. The layer of faecal contamination in rivers and other waters is not just a human risk but other species will also effected, threatening the ecological balance of the environment. We all are responsible for this filthiness so this campaign is our moral responsibility.

2. We are topping the chart – Go to google search and type “top 10 dirtest cities or countries in the world”, there will be no single list that excludes India. Getting famous is good but getting notorious will never help. The reason for this problem is the mentality of the Indians. During my visit to Singapore, we have a group six friends. Some of them have a habit of throwing trash on the public places in India but they control this habit in Singapore as they fear of being caught and fined by the cop. We often say that mentality of Indian is hard to change but I think it can change if we have proper rules with proper implementation.

What we can do for it?

Well, Charity begins at home. First and foremost thing we need to change ourself, if you are doing anything wrong you can’t question others. We have to change our mentality,if we are using any public place or transport, please make sure that we are not giving any contribution in spreading trash. Secondly, stop your family and friends while they are disposing waste material in a public place. I want to share incidence happen with me, 2 months before swach bharat abhiyaan was launched :

There is a famous temple of God Ram at the place called Orchha near Jhansi. We have been to this place sometime back with family. Suddenly my mother has dropped a trash on roadside, there was a dustbin nearby but she didn’t notice it or we can say that she ignored it completely. My brother was observing all this ahd he said :

My Brother(Nikunj) : Mom, why you dropped trash on the road? dustbin is placed nearby put this trash on it.

Mother : It doesn’t make any difference, I have already dropped it on road. Now I can’t pick it. Let it be there only.

Uncle interupted in between : I think Nikki is right, you should not drop that trash on the road.

Mother : Look around everyone is doing the same thing. There is more trash around dustbin than inside it.

Nikunj : So we also do the same, this is wrong.

Nikunj picked up the waste and dropped it inside dustbin. My uncle appreciated this act and I got the lesson that “When you realize anything is wrong, say it”

I am not saying this incidence has changed my mother’s mentality, but atleast my brother has raised his voice. Sometimes only thing we need to do is to “Speak Up”. One step taken by you can create the difference. You have clean your sweet home many times, now it’s time to clean the country which is also part of your house. For participating in this campaign you can join hands with NDTV also, for further details check out this link http://swachhindia.ndtv.com/

An Initiative To Improve Sanitation

Our PM Mr Narendra Modi has started a campaign of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” and people are enthusiastically participating in it. But sanitation includes open defecation problem as well then why we are ignoring it. People don’t want to talk about it as they think this problem belongs to the lower society. They can make fun of these things without realizing the seriousness of the problem. Although our PM is taking this problem seriously and as a part of it Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has been made the brand ambassador of the rural development ministry to spread awareness and advocate practices about sanitation and cleanliness among the rural masses in the country.

These days advertisements are flashing on TV, in which Vidya Balan is spreading awareness about the harmful effects of open defecation. The reaction of people around astonished me, “Vidya ko koi aur kaam nahi hai kya jo ye sab karne lagi?”, “Kya hai ye TV on karo aur ye sab dekhne ko milta hai”. These reactions are the root of the problem.

India has the highest number of the people (597 million) defecating in open, a shame for the whole nation. As written in TOI “Nearly 1 billion people worldwide defecate in the open and 82% of them live in just 10 countries, says a report jointly prepared by the WHO and the Unicef.India’s number is more than double that of the rest of the nine nations put together (229 million).”

Open Defecation always reminds a dialogue from Movie Hum Tum, when Kiron Kher returns from Paris she says, “Hindustan ki baat alag hai, khushboo hi kuch aur is desh ki. Wo dekho kaise nikke nikke bache sadak ke kinare baithe kar potty kar rahe hai”, how this thing can become identification of our country. Now this is a real embarrassment.

Other than embrassement, it has harmful impacts on our health. It is the root cause of many disease like cholrea, typhoid, hepatitis, polio, diarrhoea, worm infestation, it reduced physical growth, impaired cognitive function and undernutrition. A children dies every 2.5 minutes because of these diseases. According to experts, “When people urinate or defecate in public places such as markets, church premises, stadiums, airport terminal buildings, bus stations, petrol stations, or street corners, they not only help poison the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat and our environment, they also contribute significantly to shortening human lifespan.”

The Charity That Gives Empowerment

When I was a child, whenever I see a child begging it feels really bad. At that time first thought came to my mind is “he is of the same age as me, then why he is begging and not going to the school. Don’t he has parents who scold him? May be not, that’s why he is begging.. I will surely do something for such kind of children when I will be capable enough”. But when I became capable enough I didn’t get the time to think about them. Usually I donate money to NGO or give some pen, pencil, sweets to the children living in the NGO.

Sometimes I used to think that it is not enough to do this? but then the second thought came to my mind is what else anyone can do? We can’t interfere with any organization(NGO) work. We can only give suggestion to them, but can’t force to implement it. Then these words came to my mind “Shiksha se bada dan koi nahi hota”(Education is the best charity). The person who is teaching to an underprivileged is doing the best charity. As education gives the power of analyzing the things. There are few organizations working for this noble cause. The people linked to these organizations spare one hour from their daily routine to teach the children who can’t afford education. Currently, I have not started working for such kind of organization but surely I will do it very soon.
